…how does instant access to any piece of data, connected to any other piece of data by the slenderest of threads, how does this translate into knowledge, let alone understanding? And how will knowledge be imparted and how will children’s brains be trained if the joys of hypertext make the concept of the linear argument redundant? We’ll end up with soundbite education, just as we’ve got soundbite politics and soundbite journalism.
